USA Customs
Where would I be able to obtain one? I checked evilBay, and there aren't any on there. I'm not really looking in to one, but I'd like to know where to get one if I'm ever interested. I really wish they'd just bring the
USA Custom Shop
back.

Re: USA Customs
No dice on the wish. The bay is the most common place to find one. you can also try craig's list and harmony central. Lastly, if you really want one bad, then you can also call Rich and ask him if he has one for sale.
Hope this helps.

Re: USA Customs
Well, I'm not
really
interested, but I wouldn't mind knowing a place to get me hooked up with one.
Actually, I stand corrected. I saw one on evilBay, but it was just an S, and there wasn't much that was special about it. I'd love to see an RG there.

Re: USA Customs
Your best bet is definitely evilbay. I got lucky and scored one NOS at a
guitar shop
I used to deal with (even got it at the original dealer cost!!).

Re: USA Customs
When I got mine, I saw the ad on some local (read: Israeli) second-hand board. I wanted to check on **** for a price of such a guitar... I came up with nothing.
Besides, the internet is not very informative on availability of such guitars and many people don't even know there was a USA
custom shop
.

Re: USA Customs
I think he was referring to one of those S540's that with the CUSTOM MADE inlay that you see floating on Flea-bay.

Re: USA Customs
When you're looking for a j custom it helps if you know what the guitar is called so first see what tickles your fancy and then start googling.
http://jcustom.web.fc2.com/
The easiest way to get a brand new one would be to import one from ishibashi.

Re: USA Customs
Wow you said USA customs and I missed that.
The USA customs were only painted and assembled in the USA, all the parts were made in Japan so if you get a decent RG5xx or 7xx and send it to someone for a refinish you'd end up with a USA custom.

Re: USA Customs
That's not completely true, I'd say.
Some of the models are 100% American.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the USA Custom History page as well specs page indicates that more than one series were built wholly in the USA while the custom graphics were built in Japan.

On evilBay. It was cherry sunburst.
Aren't you a member of the official Ibanez forums?
EDIT: Never mind. It doesn't have the USA Custom logo, just a plain Ibby headstock.

Yeah, that Ibanez has been on the bay for months on end...
He can't figure out it's an S 540...he thinks it's a USA Custom and thus worth the $950 he's charging.

Re: USA Customs
If anyone's interested, they have a sweet red USA Custom RG with a
mahogany body
and a
flamed maple
top up for auction.

Re: USA Customs
It looks more like an S... the switch and jack got the plastic rings and the wings are rather rounded.

It's below the S, which isn't even a USA Custom in the first place. It's red.
