USRG30 - Finally Arrived

Have to admit, I was upset when I contacted the seller and they said the item didn't ship until Tuesday! *But at least they shipped it 2 day air.....Then today, I track it, and it's on hold because they didn't have my apartment number. *I finally pull some strings at UPS and got the new guitar....my USRG30TP!

I pulled it apart and took some pictures of the PBC neck, the AANJ, and the body. *The pics are in the Jemsite FTP if anyone is interested. *They are kind of large, but worth the wait!

Here is a link to a picture of the guitar. *The purple finish is much richer in person, in the pic it kind of looks brown!

Very sweet! Think you'll keep that one more than a month?

Couple of the pics must not have loaded, didn't remember the file names though.

Wow... that's a beauty, kirk!

How do you guys find all these treasures?! Man, i wish we had more of them up here in Canada. Getting stuff shipped across the border (when you can find good stuff to begin with) is really expensive.

No, I actually had a few that actually lasted 10-13 years!! *But over the last three years, yes I have been very fickle. *

I get just as much enjoyment out of playing as I do from getting new stuff. *Occasionally I find something that fits and it goes in the closet.

Usually when you find something that 'fits' it means you're actually going to play it! Not tuck it away under your Summer shorts and Hawaiian shirts!

Geeze Kirk, that guitar looks awfully familiar, but there's something about it that just isn't quite right... like the trem is kinda outta place, on that particular model

I've decided to name mine "The Guitar formerly known as USRG" hehehe... now if we ever end up at Jemfest at the same time we'll have to get together and do a Prince cover

I'd have thought you'd find the USRG neck a little chunky. I thought you were a devoted Wizard fanatic, and my USRG's neck is definitely more like the Viper profile on my Petrucci...

Hope you enjoy yours and much as I'm enjoying mine! They're just very, very cool guitars...

On the one I had, I switched the knobs for Cosmo Chrome knurled knobs instead. *I kinda feel the plastic knobs are an insult to the rest of the guitar.
I loved the guitar. *Killer machine. *Had to sell it to a buddy. *I've said it once before "I sold it to him, and now he wont sell it back"

Jim the neck on this is definitely falling between the "Ultra" and a "Wizard." *I don't know where the difference is, but there is definitely a difference!

Maybe I am crazy or don't know the difference between thickness, radius and width! *

Kirk,
Can I ask if the person you bought it from was in California?
