What amps for your J Customs?

What do you guys use? I'm probably gonna get a Mk III in a couple of months. Anyone here here use one? If so, can you tell how it sounds with your Ibanez? Clips are greatly appreciated.

Re: What amps for your J Customs?

With my Ibanez J Custom 8470, I'm using a Hughes & Kettner Trilogy with a TC Electronics G-Force in the effect loop, going into a Marshall 1960 4x12 cab. I'm controling everything with a Roland midi pedalboard....

I'm dreaming of a Rocktron All Access pedalboard, but this thing is damn expensive!!

Re: What amps for your J Customs?

I'm using a Bruce Egnater built preamp (M4) with a VHT 2/50/2 power amp and a TC Electronic G System with 4 cable hook up for effects. All my cables are Van Du Hul Hybrid Integration and the speaker cables are Cardas Crosslink going to the Marshall 4x12 1960 BV with vintage 30's. The setup is ripping at practice and gigging volumes...not so good (as is pretty typical of tube amps) at bedroom levels. Everything is stored in a Road Ready 8 space shock rack with a Monster 2500 controlling the power with a Peterson strobostomp on a shelf in the rack along with a Klon Centaur that I can kick in with the loops from the G System as needed. The footpedals (G System is split into rack and foot controller option) are stored in a NYC custom built case and include the GS foot controller and an Ernie Ball 6166 for expression. My git is an Ibanez RGA121 with the natural finish.

Re: What amps for your J Customs?

I'm using a Mesa Dual Rectifier(3 channel) through a Rectifier 2x12 & 4x12 cabinet. Not Ideal for home use but sounds great live and at practice. Guitars vary from DiMarzio Tone Zone/Air Nortor loaded Ibanez's to BC Rich's & Jackson's loaded with EMG's. I use a Morley Wha(love it) to help the leads cut and an Alesis MultiVerb for reverb/delay on the clean channel. In the studio I used the Mesa head through a vintage Marshall greenback cab.

I'm interested in checking out an ENGL but there's nowhere around here to try one.

Re: What amps for your J Customs?

Why would a J-Custom require any more a specific amp choice than any other guitar?
