What are the chances of...

A prestige RG with a fixed bridge (Gotoh GTC style) for 06'?

and maybe even a figured top?

Am I just dreaming?

No, you're not dreaming. You're missing something though.

RGA series. RG guitars with fixed bridges, and...look, one with a flamed maple top.

This is from the current (2005) Ibanez catalogue. I presume this is what you were looking for?

I know about the RGA's, they're not really what I'm looking for though. I don't like the look of those bridges, I prefer the Gotoh GTC ones. Arched tops are also not my cup of tea.

Re: What are the chances of...

I'll let you in on a little secret. I don't know what a Gotoh GTC bridge is.

With the RGA line up though, is there any real reason for Ibanez to make another style of fixed bridge guitar? I mean, as it says on the page, they are Ibanez's 'fixed bridge RG', so it doesn't make sense that they would make another totally different fixed bridge RG when they already have them.

Re: What are the chances of...

Well, the RGA series is new, they had RG's with the old style GTC bridge's before the RGA's with the Gibraltar bridge. Also the PGM301 has the old GTC, even the 05'. That will probably always have one though as PG obviously has the bridge on his guitar. Observe -

Maybe Ibanez will eventually no longer produce RG's with the Gotoh GTC, they may just go with the Gibraltar. The again they may have been used only because the RGA's are new so they wanted a new bridge, so it's something very different than what was already produced. Enough speculation from me.

I'd say the chances are about 0.0% for a prestige RG hardtail. At least for one in the US market anyway. --Jason

That's a shame. Maybe The Japanese will get one and I could import it from Ishibashi.

As much as I dislike the idea of signatures, the PGM301 is my only option.

The PGM301 is a nice looking guitar. If you get one, Congrats.

Well, apparently a lot of people on the forum didn't mind getting signature axes (jemsite?).

You could always go custom and have a guitar that is similar to an RG, but has the Gotoh bridge.

Re: What are the chances of...

I've got an 04' PGM301, and it's a great guitar. The fact that it's a signature model wasn't the only reason I bought one. It just has the features I was looking for in a guitar. If Ibanez made a non signature series Prestige RG, hardtail, with maple fingerboard I would have bought one. --Jason
