Ball dropped, opportunity missed.
yeah, i said it didn't come with locking studs...?

what i was trying to say is, why did they even introduce the EP or the EZ even if everyone was happy with the lo-pro/edge?

I wish the edge would return, at least for Jem's and JS's, because I very rarely see Vai and Satch use anything but them.Occasionally I see Lo Pro but I don't really like the appearance of the Lo-Pro.

Re: What I Hate About Ibanez

I am willing to accept new design bridges whether it is EP, EZ or whatever. I only dislike the fact that Ibanez omit certain important aspects of the new system that prevent these bridges from being better than the original EDGE/Lo-Pro EDGE. Furthermore, I've heard that the EZs are being manufactured in China?

It is weird that we see endorsees playing guitars that are different from the production models (in terms of the bridges). I am sure that anyone who pays alot for a signature guitar would want a guitar that is an exact replicate of the artist version.

Any guitar with middle pup is ugly to me,too much visual information.I prefer 2 hums with a split switch. For bluesy sounds I use both center coils of my hums.

Word! (90s talk!)

Seriously dude, how can anyone not like position 4? It's the best. HSS or HSH doesn't matter position 4 rules.

Re: What I Hate About Ibanez

Meh, the only reason I'd want a middle pickup is to cancel hum from a single coil neck pickup.

The thing I hate most about Ibanez is its convoluted naming system for its guitars. Took me months to figure it partially out, but still...

RG, S, JEM, E-Gen, X, Gio, etc, doesn't make it very easy for a newcomer to understand the difference between series's.

Even worse for individual models,RG3550MZ, RGT42MDX, I mean, what the hell? How is ANYONE supposed to distinguish between models?

Re: What I Hate About Ibanez

I find the naming system quite good.

RG = Rock Guitar (the flagship ibanez shape)

3 = The mostly cosmetic standard of quality

550 = The actual model name (550 being probably the most famous RG)

MZ = Colour and Finish

Re: What I Hate About Ibanez

What if you could choose one non-signature ibanez and get it for free, but you had no information about any of the guitars other than their listed designation, how would you pick out the guitar you wanted?

Most companies at least TRY to make sense. Epiphone's Prophecy series, for example has, apart from body shapes, three different models. EX, GX, and FX. Now, none of you would probably know the differense, but at they try to make their model names distinguishable from each other.

EDIT: and RG means Roadstar Guitar :P

Re: What I Hate About Ibanez

I see what you mean, sometimes a model pops up with a confusing name, especially if it has a particular feature thats not common but in general you can get by with the first number. A RG3570 is gonna be more expensive than a RG2570 which will then be more expensive than a RG1570 and so on.

Re: What I Hate About Ibanez

Roadstar......Rock.......**** it, whatever. The point im making is that you CAN make sense out of the Ibanez naming system regardless of what the R stands for.

I have to admit though im suprized it stands for roadstar cause the roadstar was a strat shaped model from years ago
