Re: WHAT KIND OF GUITAR IS THIS?
Looks like a serpent graphic usa custom. It should have USA Custom on the headstock. Maybe it's had a neck swap. --Jason

Re: WHAT KIND OF GUITAR IS THIS?
I would say it's the UCMD1ST with a different neck and pick-ups.

Re: WHAT KIND OF GUITAR IS THIS?
I don't really know, a lot of people who have them have probably never put pics up, but I have probably seen at least 10 on here at one point or another.

Re: WHAT KIND OF GUITAR IS THIS?
Yep. I think it's the USAC "Serpent." Probably an early version. I've seen some of the other fabric tops done with that "burst" around the edges, but I'd say it's fairly uncommon. The neck/pickup variations don't make any difference, as you could order those set up however you want. The pic shown in the catalog was just the "stock" configuration for that graphic.

Re: WHAT KIND OF GUITAR IS THIS?
Believe me when I say this.. that's actually just an RG770. You see them floating around in Japanese guitar shops every once in a while.
Why is it just an RG770 when it looks like a UCMD?? Japan had some RG770's made similar the USA Custom metal design models because it wasn't a product line offered in Japan and secondly, the whole USA Custom line was just too expensive to bring back over into Japan. The guitar was really an assembly of guitar parts made in Japan which was then shipped over to the US to get the paintjob done in the US. Getting it shipped back to Japan after the paintjob was done would have just been too much overhead cost.
Think of that particular guitar as Japan's version of the UCMD for the Japanese domestic market before the whole J-Custom line showed up.
