What the heck is wrong with the 3120?

I've got one of the old RG3120s (the best by the way) and a RGT3120
I was suprised that they where discontinued. Then made a return only to now be dicontinued again. Everybody seems to love the 3120 and especially the older ones. Why are they getting the ax again?

I agree that cost cutting is the most likely reason. It's also the same reason why Ibanez is shipping their Korean line to Indonesia.

Re: What the heck is wrong with the 3120?

Seeing that Ibanez does not produce guitars using 'just in time/made to order' production methods like ESP does(something they stole from the automotive industry aparently), Ibanez is most likely cutting the RG3120 because of the low sales figures. As great of a guitar as it is, I wouldn't be surprised if Ibanez isn't making any money pumping out RG3120s and that the time and money spent producing RG3120's would be much more cost effective just to make RG1570's or something like that.

We all know Ibanez is run by bean counters and folks in marketing so it shouldn't be a surprise to see them try to cut costs as much as possible.
