What Type of Neck Finish on Prestige/J-Customs????

Hi Guys.
Can anyone tell me what type of finish Ibanez usually use on their high-end Prestige/J-Custom and Jem/Universe guitars? I really like the 'smoothness' of the finish Ibanez uses. I've heard some people say that Ibanez necks are 'unfinished' but although the neck on my RG1570 has no shine or obvious 'lacquered' look to it I'm pretty sure there is some sort of Satin-type finish on it, Satin Poly maybe? (or at least I think there is).
The main reason I want to find out is because I'm building a guitar at the moment and I've had a neck made which is maple with an Ebony board and at the moment it feels gorgeous, but I've read that it's not advisable to leave a maple neck without a 'hard finish' on it. I've also heard people talk about 'oil-finishes' but I'd be concerned about warpage and stuff.
If anyone can advise me as to the best lacquer to use on my neck I'd be very grateful. It's a stunning neck and I don't want to spoil it at this stage.

Using Oil on a neck as a sealer won't cause it to warp. If you're going to use oil to seal your neck, use either Tung Oil(like a lot of manufacturers do) or use Gun stock oil(like the eld Ernie Ball Music Man EVH or AXIS models). Just remember that you're supposed to put on the oil, let it cure and then sand it down.

Can you put headstock Decals on oiled necks and if you do would it go on first or after the oil? Any ideas or advice please.
Do you have any idea what it is that Ibanez finish their necks with also?
