Re: why my guitar sounds ?

Comparing mine, TZ is actually louder than evo but it takes less gain to overdrive a TZ. I dont have a SS here but i remember when i wired my mates i thought id screwed up because it was so quiet compared to my evos.

Re: why my guitar sounds ?

The standard bridge pup on the YJCRG1 is the paf pro which is a 'medium output' pup. A Steve's Special and Tone Zone ('high output' pups) have a similar output to each other (a fair bit more than the paf pro) but the TZ would appear 'louder' because of it's voicing. The Evo actually has slightly more output than these two, but not much.

Re: why my guitar sounds ?

Its louder or it isnt, the evo has alot mids and highs which makes it quieter but still powerful whereas the TZ has alot of bass making it louder even if it isnt as powerful.

Take a look at the DiMarzio website as they have lots of info on the various pickups.
