Well the only one who will know for sure if you'll be happy with it is you. IMHO I can't see how anyone can go wrong with a J Custom, J Customs rule period ! So that being said I believe you'll love it . It's nice looking despite the dings I saw in the pics. J Customs are the best Ibanez makes, best craftmenship, materials, hardware, electronics...the best.

Hi ScreamingJem, I can definitely recommend the 1680 (have one in "Deep Red" myself), but only if you're prepared for a much meatier neck than the Wizard profiled ones on your other RG guitars! I also have the impression as if Ibanez had used the largest available fretwire on that neck. This is one thing to consider, but apart from that, as GTR-MAN said, you can't really go wrong.

well actually the rg2020x is a really thick neck and i've been told the neck on this guitar is almost the same thickness. Which IMO is really good cause i love the neck on my rg2020x, much better than the toothpick neck on my old 770

Re: Will i be happy with a RG1680?

The 1680 has an Ultra neck which is beefier than a Wizard. If you like the thicker necks (which it sounds like you do) then you should be very happy with it.

IMHO thicker neck = more tone and sustain and more stability. I just bought an RGT3020 with an Ultra and have owned the JC RG1608 and damned if they don't feel more stable than some of the thinner necks. Just my 2cents.
