$20,000 JS2000... yeah right.

An Aussie guitar magazine is running a contest where you can win an autographed JS2000, signed by Joe when he toured Australia earlier this year. The article goes on to say the guitar has been valued at $20,000. (USD$15,484.05) due to the autograph.

So to the thousands of you with Joe's autograph on a production guitar, you're sitting on a goldmine! KA-CHING!!!

Okay, switching sarcasm mode off now.

You think that's bad, I was looking through Guitar Worlds 2006 guitar buyers guide and seen a Martin acoustic listed at $100,000.00 USD. They're making "only" 50 of them. Nobody signed them, played them, or bled on them or for them. They are pretty, but how does anyone justify $100,000.00 for an acoustic, or any guitar for that matter ? And $20,000 for a JS2000 is retarded just as well. Who cares if Joe signed it, his autograph isn't worth $18,000. Just goes to show that Darwinism isn't working like it should.

And anyway, when my song wins the contest I'll buff the signature off and get him to sign the back of the headstock instead.

Are you sure the price of $100,000 USD isn't for all 50 together .

I know. They could at least say "want to sound like Satch? Buy this guitar!" which is a little bit closer to truth.

I'm suing *************** because they told me if I bought a Jem 7vwh then I could play like Steve Vai, and well... I can't!

Same thing goes for the Yngwie Stratocaster. All those guys who have there own guitars (Steve Vai JEM, Joe Satriani JS1200, Malmsteen Strat, etc.) are open to problems like that.

Back to the topic: That's crazy! I would be a cheap JS100 and have Joe sign it! hehehe

I remember seeing a signature gibson in Musicians' Friend for like $45000 about 5 years ago. totally ridiculous. I forget who's it was, some old legend guy. It must of had like part of his soul within the wood grain or something.

that was the 1 millionth Martin guitars (1,000,000- 1,000,050) made. a little guady - i saw one at NAMM.
a Gibson LP, '57 in mint with the original case and hang tags still on it ended at auction for over $85K and the reserve price was NOT met.
some of Claptons personal guitars fetched a pretty penny as well.
this JS wasn't Joe's so i don't see the big deal.

Yep, $20,000. Guitarist Australia. Page 62 and 63. They say the list price is $3695 but with the signature it's been valued at $20,000 by "one auction expert."
