Re: $6000 JS10th on Evil***

#2 was bid to $10k with reserve not met.

I emailed the underbidder after it closed, he never though he'd actually have to pay that much if he had won but would have paid if he had. Hence the lesson, bid high to win, but be fully prepared to pay every penny you bid.

It's a useful tactic to find out how high something will go [I suspect anyway]. You put a rediculous reserve on and see where it ends, reserve isn't met so there's no worry about selling if you don't like the amount. If you like it you offer it to the high bidder for his bid. It never came up again so I suspect it sold after the auction.

Re: $6000 JS10th on Evil***

You mean Chromeboy #009? I would be careful on **** auctions with this item !!! Few days ago some person tried to cheat me - fraud (second chance offer) and sent me fake webpages of SquareTrade - transfer money via WesternUnion to escrow agent, but SquareTrade is not an escrow company and did not offer wire transfers via Western Union etc.
If seller do not want to send pics of such guitar from digicam and send You some small **** pics from internet so it is probably fraud. Now You can see the same auction with the same pics but seller is different. Strange :P
6000$ I think that this is not a good deal even for pimp Chromeboy.

Around two year ago the JS 10th prototype was on the bay with a starting price of $6000 I think. I just can't remember if a reserve price was settled by I know for sure no one made a bid on it...

Re: $6000 JS10th on Evil***

Just kinda curious as why lots of people call **** evilbay? I'm not defending **** and the flaws that it has for obvious reasons. However, I have purchased many items in the past from **** and have not been cheated or misled in any way. Some things are too obvious to recognize like weird screen names that have changed in the las 30 days, people who are in different continents selling stuff, etc. I generally will buy something on **** if the person has a good rating and is living in the US.

Now, as far as the JS10's go, well that's another story. One has to be quite informed and knowing how much he/she wants to pay for one of those babies. I hope I don't get thrown out of jemsite but I called "Someone in a store in Vegas" and asked if they had a JS10, can you guys believe that they gave me a price of $10-15k on the phone? That's insane IMO. Nevertheless, if I were to find a js10 on ****, I wouldn't pay more than $3-4K, maybe $5k tops if the instrument was case kept and never played.

Just a friendly opinion

Jimmy :-)

I've heard of offers of more than than $3k for Chromies with chrome missing... off the front. If you own a JS10th you own the market.
