Anyone like the JS700?

A very strange JS model:

- Korean made (I assume a JS "budget" model)
- P90 style pickups
- Short Stop bridge

Just curious if anyone ever liked one. They sure look interesting.

Re: Anyone like the JS700?

I like mine reasonably well. Doesn't play as well as my JS6 or 540S's do. I'd never had that style bridge before, but it didn't take long to get used to. I didn't care for the P90s, so I put the Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge and DP162 in the neck (both P90 shaped, so I didn't have to modify the body). I had bought mine because I didn't think I'd ever find/afford a JS6, and wound up getting the new pickups really cheap too. You'll see the JS700 for less than $400 easy. I've seem some less than $300.

Definitely worth the money.

keep in mind there were korean made js700s and japanese made ones. that being said, i've owned a korean one and a japanese one in the past. the korean one was a piece. the bridge posts were not installed correctly at the factory and as a result it would not intonate properly no matter what you did. the wraparaound tailpiece couldn't be set back far enough for the guitar to be in tune with itself. so short of filling the bridge post holes and redrilling, that guitar was pretty much worthless. the japanese one was fine however. i just didn't like the sound of the stock p90s and it didn't play as well as the other js models i owned (js1, js1000 and js6).

Yeah, seeing Stratoskier's was part of my inspiration to get one. I'm still blown away by that one. Awesome.

I love mine, an unadulterated Jap one. The P90s provide a really great, deep, clean sound.
