buying a js
I was thinking about buying a new js1000, the only color is bp though. You think I should wait to buy one in the future, that has different color options, or just buy a bp because it is going to be so long before they come out with any different colors? My guitar is kind of jacked up, so I am leaning towards just buying the black pearl, although I hate the color.

Re: buying a js
well you can buy one used in mint for $800-900 if you look hard.. That is a good deal and they are very nice guitars, especially for that price. So I wouldnt worry as much about color as much

Ya they are very nice guitars for the money, and money is not really a factor for me, so think I might just buy a new js, and get a sweet paintjob in the future, because I hate plain black so much.

I would wait for the new colours (2004 should already bring us a new JS) since I find Black Pearl really BORING. You could also try looking for a used BTB (if you like them).
If money is not a problem maybe you should consider the higher- end models like the 2000 CG or (why not?) the 90th, the 10th or even the Y2k. That's what I would do if I had enough money in my pockets.

I like that js2000cg color a lot, but it has a
fixed bridge
, and I need a tremolo. I wish they made a cg with a lo pro

They are not the same. the js neck is still better then any s-series neck, the body shaping is different and the zr-trem is still ****
but the btb finish is very nice i love it! if you need a cool finish, ask rich for a
chrome boy
maybe he finds one for you

It
really
pisses me off when people say the JS and the S series are the same.
They are not.

I think the Js's gor a more "open" sound like the S-Series but this is subjective and sentimental
the js is still the best ibanez guitar ever made
