Just buy the JS1000, it's the same as the JS2000 with an Edge Pro instead of an FX.

The JS2000 is not routed for a trem; the FX Edge sits on top by means of two posts. There is no routing, no springs, so you would have to have it routed and everything, which is a pain in the ass for a difference of only color.

I think the FX bridge is so redundant. Why would you need a locking nut and a floyd-like saddle system just for a hardtail?! I'm sure tone plays a part in it, but not THAT big of a part...

dunno... but i don't use trems at all (i recently tried and didn't really find use for it... too much of work and effort connected with it for just such a little advantage). also i play a lot with different tunings (half step down or drop d, mainly) and therefore a fixed bridge is what i need...

tuning stability, i'd imagine. aggressive bends (especially the multi-string bend stuff that joe wanted to use the 2000 for) are almost as as bad for tuning as a trem, so you may as well lock the nut, and for that, you'll want fine tuners for, well, fine tuning, and voila, you end up with what's on the 2000

It's not redundant. Out of the three hardtail Ibanezes I own (JS2000, SC420, RG421, all different hardtail styles), the JS2000 is by far the most stable tuning-wise.

It's a very cool design.
