Chrome pickguards for Js10, where can you get one?

I have a friend that just got a JS10 chromeboy, and is wanting to know where he can find someone that makes chrome pickguards, or pickguard material in sheets, that has chrome finish.

anyone make a chrome pickguard for your Js10??

Just got myself a 10th and the seller included a sheet of clear material he says will work as a pickguard and that its removable and safe.
I havent tried it yet.I asked him for info regarding where to get more and he will let me know. When I find out I will post for you.

Congrats as well!

There somebody on fbay selling a type of guard for the 10th. It's basiically just a thin sheet of clear cling on vinyl cut in the shape. These sheets can be found at craft stores and can be cut to fit....also a not a bad idea to make a sheet/guard for the back of the guitar as well.

yes, i think i know what you're talking about, i'm surprised I havent seen an actual chrome pickguard yet after doing a search on the internet, one that will fit a Js guitar. My friend wants to have one that reflects just like the finish so it will look less obvious of anything being there. I guess for the back of the guitar, the clear vinyl is a good idea.

A pickguard on a JS is a crime. A guard on a 10th will look like crap, even if it is chrome. If you really have to protect the surface, use the clear vinyl protectors (like Joe uses), so you don't have to put holes all over the thing. The body isn't flat enough for a normal pickguard anyway.

If he really wants his jem 10th to be his main player, clear cling vinyl will work fine, but pickguards simple DONT exist for that guitar shape, look how rounded the face of it is

I know, i've seen pickguards on Js10's before, and I admit they look horrible......even the clear vinyl. They are real eye catchers, but in a bad way. But i guess it's way better than seeing a permanent yellow spot where the chrome is missing, but he thinks a chrome pickguard will make it look a little more uniform, and less obvious.........I have yet to even see a chrome pickguard.

However, I have heard of mirrored acrylics , that could be something to look into.

It depends on whether you want true chrome, or just a mirrored pickguard. There certainly are plenty of mirrored plastic materials around for pickguards. True chrome would be back to the same old problems ... unless you used metal.

I just sold my JS10th to MitchMarshall. Whats up Mitch!
You can get some clear clings at www.window-cling.com You can get a small sheet and cut it in to the shape you want and just lay it on the guitar. Comes off with no problem and will protect the chrome. I gave Mitch a sheet with the guitar so he could try it out. Good luck!
