Custom JS 700

I am pretty new to the forum here. Always been a regular visitor though. I recently purchased a JS 700 off the "bay" for under $300. I removed all of the transparent red finish off the neck and tung oiled the neck. I also sanded down the headstock and had a custom decal made to replace the original the headstock is tung oiled as well as clear coated. Took out the soapbars and replaced them with the PAF Pro and FRED from my JS1000. Had to do very little routing to fit them. (I replaced the JS1000 pickups with a PAF Joe and Mo'Joe). Replaced the knobs and pots. This now has the same pot and wiring as the JS1000 with coil tap and high pass filter. For a short time I was still using the stock tuners, but I just replaced them with the Planet Waves Auto Trim locking tuners (the very same tuners that can be found on the JS1600, without the Ibanez logo on the back though). I think in the future I may replace the short stop tailpiece. But for now it's fine.

It's not bad looking, I myself prefer the JS2000 out of all of them JS line though

First off, welcome to Jemsite.

That looks very nice. I'm particularly impressed with the headstock.

More pictures and bigger size dude, I want to see the back of the whole guitar and see how the neck looks in relation to the body.

Re: Custom JS 700

That's not a bad idea! I might just steal it. It would almost perfectly match my JS6000TR.

I think I'd keep the soapbars though.

I agree though... more and bigger pics! Please!
