"Donnie" flashback for Rich@ibanezrules - "Donnie" sighting

A year or so ago, I stumbled across a dealer in New Jersey while on a quest for a Chromeboy. I happened across an old ad for a JS90th for $1500.00. As we all know, that dealer in New Jersey has an affection for Satriani's (Especially with Graphics). Late one night I came across an On-Line Pawn Broker in Texas, that listed a JS-3, so I passed that info onto Rich. Much to his surprise, they also listed I think 3-5 more JS-3s, which is remarkable considering the rarity of "Donnies". Sad to say, they all turned out to be cheap RGs some kid painted with a spray can, and the pawn shops considered them Custom Ibanez guitars!!! Funny thing being that I found a pic of one for Rich, as a consolation LOL!!!!! :rotf:

haha...the Donnie Osmond Signature model

There's a whole ring of con artists prewying on pawn shops (about time somebody got them back for preying on us all these years). They wern't RG's, these were anything *cheap* with an Ibanez logo. They'd just mark them in some way by painting JS-3 on it somewhere. I don't think it was anything intentional against JS-3's, just that their "book value" was high enough (gimmee a break, I'd love to be able to buy one for "book") to make it worh it. I bought 4 Donnies in one night! I bought 4 P'sOS in one night.

And spent 3 weeks getting the cancellations, reimbursements, etc. taken care of with the "Corporate" office.

Thanks for the memories!

To quote John Candy from Planes, Trains, and Automobiles:

"Oh, this isn't so bad. I'd though it would be a lot worse than this. They'll be able to buff this up no problem. Oh, yeah. [long laugh] WOW. [laugh] I mean that was close. We can laugh about it now, we're all right. Maybe we should just get my stuff off the road, eh? What do you think?"

I still get tears in my eyes..........from laughing so hard LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
