Don't Know What You've Got (Till It's Gone) - it ain't just
I was going through some old pictures of the
music store
I used to take guitar lessons in, and I noticed this really goofy looking Ibanez they used to have. *They had this black S - model that no one knew about. *The guy behind the counter said he bought it off some guy who needed cash very quickly. *He said from the look of it, the guy's wife had used her paint pens on it. *It was black with lots of rainbow kinda streaks. *They just COULD NOT sell the thing. *I remember when it first came it was marked $899, then $599, finally $470. *One day it was gone. *Now looking at the pics, I realize it was a JS Rainbow model. *I could have bought a nearly mint model for $470! *Unfortunately, I just thought it was some second-hand repainted S model....oh well..

Don't Know What You've Got (Till It's Gone)
I never wanted to admit this, but about 5 years ago I bought a minty
JEM GMC
for $800. A couple of years later, and harldy played I needed quick $$$ to finish a cd project....I sold it for $500.00. Everytime I see one now with a price tag of $2000+, my stomach turns. BTW I completed the project and it went nowhere, shortly afterwards the group broke up and I was left with one less guitar.
Live and learn. Don't look back, live in the moment.

Don't Know What You've Got (Till It's Gone)
That truly is a sad, sad tale chromeboy
However, what's done is done and I would worry about it, just concentrate on what cool guitars you can buy tomorrow!!!
(GAS is so much better if you don't fight it)

Don't Know What You've Got (Till It's Gone)
Thanks for the kind words Skaught. In retrospect, it was the right decision at the time, so I'll just focus on my next axe!

Don't Know What You've Got (Till It's Gone)
Man can I relate to this! *I was once the proud owner of a Donnie ( refer to it as #000005- the number that was on the
neck plate
). *Got it from the Ibanez rep brand new for $1600. *It was signed and everything! *Loved the finish, but, my tastes changed and I decided that I REALLY wanted a '62 Strat. *So...off I went to sell the Donnie! *It's been 4 or 5 years now, and I'm more into Ibanez again. *Sold the '62 Strat and bought a car. *Right when I REALLY want a Donnie again, who should end up with it? *Mr. Harris of course! *I've resigned myself to the fact that I shall never again see lovely Donnie #00005 (although I hear it's seen some pretty heavy wear since I owned her.) *But, at least I know she's in a great home! *

Don't Know What You've Got (Till It's Gone)
All my guitars smoke
It hasn't seen heavy wear, just a chip at the jack and the dumbass screwed a wrench holder on the back of the head. Other than those it's still in sweet condition. You may 'see' it again, but that's it

Don't Know What You've Got (Till It's Gone)
I was 15 at the time. I now realize it was a JS model, but all I had seen were S470s etc. *It was a JS Rainbow, but everyone (including me) seemed to think it was a S model that some chick had gotten artsy on. *It wouldn't surprise me since in that same shop they had a Flying V that someone had nailed about 700 bottle caps to.
