Fred or evo in a js1000 hmm...

What is a better bridge pickup the fred or evo i would like some opinions, and why u think it's better. Also if u put an evo in the bridge do u have to put one in the neck or can i keep the paf?

thx..

Depends what sound you're going for. Think Bad Horsie vs. Motorcycle Driver.

Either will work fine with a PAF in the neck.

The EVO is a sweet pickup but I think the Fred sounds better in the JS bridge position. The EVO has a strong attack and you basically feel like you have more "control" over the Fred pickup. I love the EVO in my JEM7VWH but then again, when I pick up that guitar I have a particular sound in mind that I am trying to acheive.

I think the Fred has richer harmonics. The Evo is just different. You really
need to try both and see what you like best.

I'm kinda shopping for a different sound myself. I'm planning on
buying another JS and/or Root Beer Jem and having a seriously differnt
pickup/tone setup just to break away from sounding the same so much.
