Help fixing new floyd

My friend just got a JS1000 with the new trem on it......and i told him id help him set it up properly because he has no clue about these trems. I'm not familiar with the new trems that come on these Js guitars, but i fixed everything except one problem. The A and D string string blocks are raised up and because of this the fine tuners have zero resistance when turning them and they barely function. Anyone know how to fix this..?

that's a new feature on the edge pro. it completely disables the fine tuning if the saddles are set too far forward. slacken the strings, loosen the saddles and retract them back and tighten them down again. make sure the end anchor goes back under the fine tuner, if in doubt look at the other saddles and recheck

I really don't understand the way you worded the problem, but if the saddles were so far forward they lost contact then the saddles screws must have been awefully loose, I doubt you would intentionally set them there

i know it sounds odd but the same problem happened to me when i tested the 2003 models at the store. all the ones that came out of the box probably had their parts loosened so after one divebomb a few saddles flew forward

The same thing happened to me also, when I opened the box for my 2003 JS1000 the A saddle had slid all the way forward. I reset the saddle and checked the other ones. I noticed the rest of saddles were not as tight they should be. I tightened the rest of them almost a 1/4 of a turn. You should be careful not to over tighten when doing this. I have not had anymore problems out of mine except the post on the tremolo bar is to short for the new tremolos I think. When I have the high pass filter on the bar does not clear the volume knob. I raised the cavity the bar fits in 1/8 of a inch and it works fine now.

Alright guys....i haven't looked at his guitar yet but he says that he tried to fix it himself......first he loosened the strings......moved the saddle back....locked it....but when he tuned up again the saddle went right back forward......is he doing something wrong? I'll probably have a look at it later so if you could help me on what to do that'd be great. Later guys.
