Help please¡¡¡¡ JS100
My JS100 just cant stayin tune, Ive done veerything from adjusting springs to changing the strings and it still gets out of tune, i gotta say im very dissapointed cause i thought the JS100 could be the guitar i was looking for but it isnt. Im looking for a guitar that stays in tune no matter how hard u use the bar. Any suggestions???? Maybe the JS1000????

Gotta ask the stupid question........
you mentioned you changed the strings but, did you stretch them properly?

Re: Help please¡¡¡¡ JS100
could be trem posts knackered, knive edges knackered, nut not shimed correctly, trem not set to neutral position , could be lots of things , check out 'Ibanez rules' tech section, or tech section of jemsite to make sure all is setup right first. i got a js100 and my main gripe is the trem ( mines LO TRS II ) so ive just got my hands on an edge LOPRO and gonna fit that soon. the LO TRS II is a terrible bridge for tuning issues although i cant say what the edge pro II is like on the newer js100's.

Re: Help please¡¡¡¡ JS100
Yu have to bend the strings with the nut loosened. bend each string as hard as you can, or you can take the easy route and do a lot of pull ups with your whammy bar for each string.
Personally, I like bending the strings as opposed to using the bar (maybe I like pain).

Re: Help please¡¡¡¡ JS100
step 1) tune and stretch the strings properly:
http://www.jemsite.com/tech/restringing.htm
step 2) replace the TRS tremolo with an Original
Floyd Rose trem

ignore step 2: the TRS stays in tune just fine - check that you have streched the strings - that the trem is seated in the knife edges properly (ive seen them climb the studs) and check that your nut is tight.
after you have done all this you should be fine..
ignore the muppets flaming the TRS

Re: Help please¡¡¡¡ JS100
why ?
and im not getting into the edge vs trs argument - cos there is no argument
does your trs stay in tune ?
I dont a setup on an rg470 a while back with a trs on it, i divebombed it for a ges and it stayed in tune - the guy picked it up from my house an dgave the bar some abuse - it stayed in tune !
whats the problem with yours ?

Re: Help please¡¡¡¡ JS100
Bear in mind the advice (here and ibanezrules) says leave the nut UNlocked overnight and re-tune next day BEFORE locking. Make sure you follow strictly to eliminate the obvious.

+1 on that one. I've got a TRS trem on my yamaha and it holds tune just fine. The only bad thing is that the trem itself is very stiff but, it's not a bad guitar at all.

Re: Help please¡¡¡¡ JS100
my step 2 was merely a suggestion to help the tuning instability. The TRS doesn't suck but does sometimes suffer from quality control issues.
Some
TRS trems
work wonderfully and stay in tune, while others can't stay in tune even with a nice pro-setup.
I suppose to avoid more flames on myself do these steps:
1) stretch strings properly
2) get the guitar a nice setup
how's that?

Re: Help please¡¡¡¡ JS100
Thank u guys¡¡¡ I followed Ibanez Rules instructions and now my axe is finally in tune. Gotta say it was fun to be adjusting the bridge, springs, etc. Now i can use the bar and go back to perfect pitch. Now im all set up and ready to rock. Tnx guys
