How is the neck radius measured??

I own a JS2000, and it is said to have a 12" radius. How do they measure this?? The reason I ask, is because I am looking to buy a Schecter 006 Deluxe, and I'm wondering how the feel of the neck will compare to the JS. The Schecter site says that the neck has a 14" radius, will this result in a thicker feel to the neck?? All the other measurements are fairly similar. I am also curious because I played my cousin's BC Rich Beast, and loved the way the neck felt, but the BC Rich website doesn't offer any specifics on their necks.

Thanks

First of all, the radii you're measuring are not of the neck -- they are of the fingerboard. This is basically how it pans out:

Your JS has a finger board radius of 12". So draw a circle with a radius of a 12". Cut off the width of the fingerboard at a given position and you would have a profile of your fingerboard. So we can conclude the Schecter would have a flatter fingerboard than the JS!
