But 100's don't come in BP finish. If that's the case, the guitar was made out of spare parts....

Pulled the neck off.
Inside the neck cavity, is a stamp JS-1000. Same on the heel of the neck. Pickup in the bridge is AH-2? Theres no label on the bridge PU...

Probably not very likely tbh.

Whether it's a JS100 or JS1000 it still looks like a great guitar.
How does it play?
As far as how it plays?
Love the neck. Feels really comfortable. Can't say I'm too excited about the trem. Really thinking I need to get the proper trem and right locking nut for it as well.

Now, that was pretty simple.

My imagination consistently goes crazy with these mysteries.

I still have questions, but who cares?

Re: I.D. 'ing a Satch...

My mind wants to know stuff too-
Like WHY would someone take the good trem off and put a crappy one on??? Looks like I'm gonna have to replace the PU's...I can't tell if they are Dimarzios or not...maybe you guys can tell? This guitar is riddled with questions...

Re: I.D. 'ing a Satch...

My opinion is that the body is from a JS100. It does not have the tremolo route for the Edge or LoPro and it looks like it was made to fit exactly the TRS that is on the guitar. Also the pickups look like the standard ones found on the JS100. No JS1000 that I know of didn't have real dimarzio pickups. Now, the neck could have been replaced with a Japanese JS1000 one (same neck pocket, neck plate sizes), so the serial nr. etc could indeed be Japanese...

I believe you have a hybrid on your hands....

They would do it to part it out on the bay for more profit. Sell an edge pro for some cash and dump the guitar with a leftover trem. They parted out the pups too. The AH-2 would be from a JS100 if I remember right.

Anyway, it's a nice paint job. Get her a proper trem and pickups and get to playin'.

Jazzdout-
As you can see in the neck pocket, the body IS a 1000-look at the stamp in the pic. The route was repaired, and Dino (the guy who repaired and repainted the guitar for me) did have to do a little work to accommodate the route during the repair. Now, being this has been done, I wonder if I can put a LoPro into this now.

Hey Red43j -- I love that orange! Do you happen to know exactly what paint he used? (The color code would be most helpful). I have a guitar that would be very happy with that color.
Cheers,
Bert

Re: I.D. 'ing a Satch...

Red, did your luthier notice that the trem posts have been moved?

The edge trem has different post positions relative to the Lo TRS.
