I.D. 'ing a Satch...

Hey everyone-
I recently purchased a Ibanez JS. Doesn't have the Joe Satriani inlay on the neck, just dots. It was originally a Black pearl, but it appears that whomever owned it, that they took the original tremolo off and replaced it with a lesser Ibanez trem. Because of that, it damaged the body. I had it repainted Pearlesent Orange.
It appears that it could be a 1000, but we aren't sure. The tremolo seems to really throw us for a loop. Anyone have any ideas? Heres some pics. The orange is closer to a pumpkin orange:
Before:

The damage:

The repaint:

Any ideas? Can anyone identify the Floyd Rose? I'm sure it doesn't belong on this guitar. Would giving you guys the serial numbers help? The guitar was built in Japan.

Probably a 100. Route looks like a TRS.

Regardless of what it really is or what trem you have (the two low saddles look strange), it is mighty nice paint job.

The JS100 has a Satriani inlay at the 21st fret, so this probably is a JS1000.

It could be a replacement neck?
Probably not very likely tbh.

Whether it's a JS100 or JS1000 it still looks like a great guitar.
How does it play?

I thought about that but I doubt anyone with a JS1000 or JS1200 would want to change the neck

No, but somebody with a 100 would want to, and upgrade the TRS....

Can't you tell it's a 100 also by the heel? In the first pic you can see that squarish heel, which I've never seen on a 1000. Having said that, I'm no expert, though.

My point was why would JS1000 or JS1200 owners change necks, for them to be available to JS100 owners?

Maybe you've missed the 5 or 6 1000 necks I've seen sell on e-bay, or the 4 I've had. Necks are out there.

Re: I.D. 'ing a Satch...

So we can can be fairly certain that this is a JS100 with a prestige neck and upgraded trem then?

Re: I.D. 'ing a Satch...

How upgraded is that TREM? It looks like a TRS still and those two lower saddles look a bit off. Could be the strings are too thick.

I'm pretty sure it is a 100.

I still think it looks gorgeous.

Re: I.D. 'ing a Satch...

guys-
first off the trem is an Ibanez LO-TRS Trem II. If you ask me, that would be a downgrade, in terms of the tremolo. On the back of the Satch, it does have the cutaway-sweeped-deal, what do you call it? The part of the body, where the neckplate goes, it has a slight angle, it seems, to help your hand get up in the higher frets? Again, I suspect its a 1000, because it was made in Japan...would posting the serial numbers help? -Red43j
