I knocked my BTB!

I knew it would happen -

Today i very slightly tarnished the finish on my BTB

However, I am hopeful I can do something about it with some assistance - basically, what happened was that the strap caught on the top of a chair, which tipped over nearly tripping me up. I managed (thankfully!) to avoid a topple, I hate to think what would have happened to my guitar if i had fallen! Anyway, the underside, just along from the jack socket, hit fairly lightly into a painted door, leaving a small (1.5mm) whitish mark on the finish.

I do not think this is too severe, holding up to the light does not reveal any missing material or laquer, so im hoping its just a laquer scuff...

in short, is there any way I can polish this out?

Cheers.

If it's not finish cracks then it's probably just a little paint from what it scuffed against. A little polish should remove it in no time.

Thanks, Rich.

I tried polishing it out with spit - no luck. I have some GHS Guitar gloss here (for one of my acoustics, havent used it on the BTB yet...) so I guess i'll give a spot of that a try?

If it's a polish and not just a cleaner/wax. If not go to an auto parts store and get some decent auto polish.

Oh man - that must have gutted you!

I almost chipped mine... had a lesson and the guys room was tiny and a mess (its a room in a music store) and I went to get it outta it's case when the lid fell down on it. I thought it was chipped for sure - but not even a scratch!

Hey, if it goes behind the sofa & has a litter of little BTB's, can I have one? I mean, if they get the looks from their mother, that is... ;-)

Well, I've got no idea what I'm doing wrong.

Probably time to sell my BTB anyway.

hmm... always liked that finish... what are you asking? I've been considering replacing my strat with something equipped with an edge for a while now...
