Ibanez installed DiMarzio PUPs - Are they the same as over t

I was curious if the pickups that are factory installed into Ibanez guitars are "Tweaked" at all to different specs, or are they the same as any DiMarzio you buy over the counter. I only ask because I installed DiMarzios into an Ibanez that had the same body shape, weight, tone wood etc. as a higher-end Ibanez, but sounded both tinny and muddy at the same time?!? When I plugged a high-end signature Ibanez with the same pickups into my rig without making any changes to the effects or E.Q., it sounded fantastic!!! Am I the only one that has experienced this? Are those pups brand new or used? I thought you might just have got some dodgy ones there.

If used, I'm sorry...

If brand new, try taking those pups back to your dealer and replacing them (if under warranty).

What pups are they? I never heard any DiMarzios in good condition that sounded muddy or tinny, much less both at the same time. Even if you put them in a half decent guitar! Do what I've said and see what happens.

Other than the pole pieces being a different color on occasion, I've found no difference between the 'stock' DiMarzios, and the ones I've installed myself, they sound the same to me. *You might want to double-check your wiring. *If that's not the problem, you might have to exchange them for another set as YJM said.
