Ibanez JS700TR

I've been wanting to get a JS700TR for some time now and I want to ask some of you who own this beautiful guitar for some info...

What is the main difference between the Korean and Japanese version if there is any? ...I guess the quality control is not as good as in Japan, but are there any significant differences?
Any info will be greatly appreciated...

I think you mean a JS100.

the JS100 (Korean) neck isn't as nice or as high quality as the multi-radius JS1000 (Japanese version)

the JS100 has crappy Ibanez AH pickups vs the JS1000 has nicer Dimarzio Fred and Paf Pro pickups

the JS100 has a trem that has a wide range of quality issues going from "it stays in tune perfectly" to "it never stays in tune ever no matter what I do with it"


so basically just the body is the same between both guitars. Both are Radius/JS shape and made of Basswood. Everything else is different on the guitars.

I THINK the Korean version has the Joe Satriani plate on the neck, other than that the usual quality control worries will apply to the Korean version, ALTHOUGH a lot of people who have the Korean 700 say it's fine, so as usual with this type of thing it completely depends on the guitar.

I've been looking for a JS700 for quite awhile but haven't had too much luck.

I gave up and just bought a nice USA-made Hamer Studio. Duncan P90s and WAY better overall quality. Cost slightly more though

I'd actually accept a MIK model - the ones that I've played (and the one that I had) have actually been pretty decent. The pickups definitely need replaced, but that's no biggie. I've missed a couple of MIK & MIJ models, but they never seem to be around when I've got the $$

If you know of any, drop me a line. Even with the Hamer I still wouldn't mind a JS700. I'm putting some Fralin P-90s in the Hamer but wouldn't mind something that I can drop some Duncan P-90 Stacks in.

i've owned a mik and a mij. i had the mik first. it was so poorly crafted that it was basically impossible to intonate correctly. they drilled the posts for the wraparound bridge improperly (too far forward) so you couldn't adjust the bridge back far enough. i'd wouldn't trust a mik js700 unless you played it first.

the mij was pretty much perfect though, as expected.

Thanks man, that's all I needed to know...I suspected something like that, and since I can only buy it via the internet I will be geting a Japan version for sure...
