Re: Is Joe Going Back To Marshall Again?

Just wonderin', but could it be that he was on a European tour so just wanted to be diplomatic and use a European amp? I don't follow him closely, so I don't know if he's returned to the States and still using the Marshall.

Re: Is Joe Going Back To Marshall Again?

Personally, I'm not so interested in WHY he has switched. I'm more concerned that the JSX50 isn't out yet and he's moved on.

Does this mean Peavey will do a "Van Halen" ? Will they retain the rights to the JSX50 and release it under a new name (ala Peavey 5150 renamed to 6105 and the EVH Ernie Ball to the Axis Sport and the Peavey Wolfgang to the HP)?

Or is the JSX50 project canned now? With perhaps the technology to be transferred to a new range of Peavey amps to be released in the future?

OR....maybe Joe will remain with Peavey for the JSX range but have a contract with Marshall for his touring rig only?

Who knows? Will be interesting to find out, I've got my eyes on that JSX50 head and will be dissapointed if it never sees the light of day.

Well, it's what Wikipedia says
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Satriani

As for 'classic Satriani'... for me that's Not Of This Earth and Surfing With The Alien... for which I think he mostly used the CryBaby and DS-1 into a Marshall amp, still playing on his Strat.

Perhaps he is only going to be using Marshall amps with Chickenfoot, and the JSX still for his solo stuff? Only Joe knows for sure.

+Infinity

I'm totally feeling the price drop on the JSX, and hopefully that'll carry over onto the JSX50 which should drop anyway if it'll no longer carry the JSX name.

Im under the impression that the Marshalls are only for chicken foot, after that and on solo tour's he will be using the trusty ol' JSX.

I did wonder that too, but his quotes don't really support that:
