Joe's ChromeBoy on Filmore DVD


Has anyone looked closely at the Joe Satriani Filmore DVD with the closeups of his original Chromeboy? It looks like the pickup cavities are filled in with some kind of grey filler. Any comments?

It's a gray foam to cut down on any vibration. All his stage guitars are setup like this, always have been

Not sure tonally what the vibration would sound like, especially since I probably don't play at even a fraction of his frequency or volume.
