JS-1 HSH BK Serial J 001958

Hello,

I bought this guitar new in the early 90s. A personal favourite. From what i've read around here it is a JS-1 HSH BK from 1992/93. Can someone please confirm this? Serial J 001958

I do try to look after it and am taking it into the local guitar tech for a clean-up. There is corrosion forming on the pickup screws and lots of nail dust.

I'm concerned it is not wired correctly. ie The tone knob pulls out like a switch but it has no effect on the tone at all??? What is this switch supposed to do anyway? I don't know anything about wiring so I am really keen on some wiring specs to give to the guitar tech.

I would really appreciate if someone could confirm it is a JS-1 and any info on wiring specs for this love of mine.

Thanks

1992 JS1BK HSH. The push pull on the tone pot is the high pass filter. Roll the volume all the way down and hit a high note. Pull the pot.

I have exactly the same Guitar, picked it up in '93 and funnily enough my Serial Number is 001985. It is amazing and after all these years it is still my favourite. The High Pass filter does work nicely but like Rich I only use it for low volume stuff (which is rare these days).

Holy sh!t,

The high pass filter does work. I've played this guitar daily for 14 years and have never tried the tone pot switch with the volume down low. Can't believe it. Thankyou Rich.

quiksilverdew, my amp is a Carvin XV112. I like it a lot.

SYL, nice guitar, very nice indeed
