Hmmm that JS1200CA - anyone know if it is just plain Candy Apple red or if it is transparent?
I'd hate to see a plain red JS guitar... wish it was quilted maple top :P

I'm guessing that it's not transparent, judging by the CA color designation. Ibanez has a history of using a T when they are.

I don't prefer red for most things in life, but my Valley Arts in red metallic with a slight transparency showing the figuring in areas changed my mind for red on guitars. Can't wait to see the new JS in person.

So, um, nice guitar.. I didn't expect some crazy model, at least not as a straight production model...

What's up with that PAF Joe? It gonna be a production model? And, if so, what are the specs? Anyone have any info on it? To tell the truth, the pickup is way more interesting to me..

Yeah, but then we'd have to call it the JS-1200CAT. See any problems?

I'm going to put myself squarely in the minority here, but I'm psyched about this. This is a guitar we all lamented would never make production when we first saw pics, and now it is and we're complaining? We know for a fact that the JS graphics won't be re-released, so it's pointless to ask about that. Ibanez has also vowed never to do a true chrome finish again, so we can't hope for a re-release of the chromeboy line, or a "goldboy" or anything else along those lines. and the closest thing to a "graphic" he's playing now is the modded 90th, and as such it's unlikely they'd release that one, either. The JS-7? He's only cut two tracks with it, but since 7-strings are still selling slowly, even Joe's endorsement wouldn't send this thing flying off the shelves.

So, that leaves us the seafoam green or the candy apple red as the two obvious production choices. We all wanted color, right? How much more colorful than red can you get? I'd have loved to see the BTB released stateside, but barring that, I think this is great news. It's a more colofrul JS, I'm intrigued about the new pickup, and if Ibanez is willing to release a new JS model, it means they obviously think he'll remain relavent in mainstream guitar culture for at least another few years. I feel as if I ought to be buying a bottle of champagne or something... I play very little 6 these days, but if I have the cash I'd love to grab one.

CAT.
TCA.

How 'bout BTCA? If they won't do the right thing and sell the BTB here... perhaps a Burnt Transparent Candy Apple one?

Ah, well... too late for wishful thinking... they're announcing it... and releasing it. FINALLY, lol. A new JS. It's about time.

I'm glad. The JS Body was made for red. It's been a long time since a version of red was available on the line.
