JS-guitar mystery...
I'm not sure but I
think
that the 92 and 93 400 series Radius guitars were Japanese.
Up until 93 the RG450 was also built in Japan then production shifted to Korea when it's
edge trem
was changed to the TRS type. The Current RG470 is rumoured to have shifted back to Japan as it's country of origin.

To go back and answer this question, everything from Sabres to Radiuses, to Powers are all claimed to be JS models most of the time. If it don't say JS on the headstock, it aint
:glare: So that Donnie I sold you isn't a JS? :silly:

Caught me there smart a$$!
Good memory BTW!
OK all 90' JS models don't have JS Series on the headstock and you have to determine it's a JS by the J plate serial numbers. With exception of 91' Donnies also not having the JS on the head all models 91' on do. So I guess I should change that to "If it don't have a J Plate it aint a JS"

JS-guitar mystery...
Crap, OK, before somebody notices, all early JS models have J plates but somewhere around 002700 or so they dropped the J (I'd have to check that #) and are just sequentially numbered from there, up to somewhere in the high 6's to 007000 today.
OK, I'm done saying "it aint...", I learned my lesson and will sit in the corner for 20 minites.
(my computer's in the corner)

JS-guitar mystery...
Back to the R355 guitar...
Jono (or anybody), the shape of the body in that catalog scan doesn't seem to be exactly that of an R shape. Can someone clear this up for me? Or am I just seeing things wrong? It looks like it's a bit of an RG smoothed out on the edges to a hybrid of both RG and R body shapes. Am I the only one who sees this?

It is a slightly flattened
body shape
, more like a normal Strat to accomodate the scratchplate.

JS-guitar mystery...
Jono thanks for posting that pic for us !, I only just caught up to this thread. That is a wild R type guitar. It never ceases to amaze me the info I've come across on this forum, I only wish I had joined ages ago.

Yeah the current RG470 is back in Japan, but the S470 still is manufactured in Korea, and both sport TRSII's
