JS guitars and what else...

Obviously the first step is a JS series guitar, but then i recon 70percent of the satch tone is gear, not just his JS2 or his donnies or whatever, although they are all incredible instruments, what i wanna know is, what sorta gear does satch use in conjunction with the JS series guitars, what amps effects etc (other than the eventide of course... :P ) Are there any good satch patchs for say, a roctron intellifex around? Is there anywhere i can find a gear list for satchs live performances?

Any answers to these questions would be appreciated, since i can play the tunes now, but i cant get the tones...help meee

Rob

Have you tried www.satriani.com? I'm fairly sure there's a gear list of sorts there

satchs engines of creation tour setup was as folows:his guitar-

Dunlop 535q wah or Crybabys and Jim hendrix units(but normally the1st)-

Boss ds-1 distbox-

Fultone ultimate octave(beuitfull box)-

Digitech Whammy pedal

Boss super chorus

Boss dd-2 delay(350 ms)

then on the efects loop (and switch)-
2 Chandler digital delay boxes one of 450-550ms and the other is 600-800ms(so he can stagger the delay for a "reverb like aunviauce")

then all that out of a Marshall 60-100 head(stock) and 2 Marshall strait cabs with 25 watt celestions.

hope that helps rob that was all the stuff for the engines tour and most tours are rughly the same.

I'm fairly sure that "Why" on The Extremist utilized an Eventide. I think he pretty much just uses the Eventide for harmonizer effects in the studio. He seems to have gravitated more towards stompboxes lately though.

Yup...that's a decent representation of Joe's live rig. Last I saw, he was actually using (2) DD-2's for varying levels of delay.

But...what's used live usually varies a bit from what is used in the studio.

Satriani and Vai use to be (and probably still are) 2 of the biggest endorsers of Eventide. If you like those crazy delays and some of that lush reverb..... look no further than the Eventide.
