If my memory serves, Joe's snake has inlays for the snakes (I read it somewhere a long time ago).

+1. That's a very reasonable price for a very labor-intensive (and high-quality) custom finish. It's way more work than a pseudo-chrome finish (and looks a lot better too). Good luck finding the same quality for less.
