JS Special help

Hi there,

Please help me to identify JS Special model as I am thinking to get one.

I did search on the forum and found a discussion about JS special WH. But I couldn’t find pickups and trem information anywhere on the net. It is 2003 model.

What Dimarzio are they? Is it Edge or Lo-Pro?
Is it close to JS900 or 1000?

The headstock is a bit slanted away from the body when I hold the guitar. Is it normal or the neck is required to adjust?
As you know, JEM and Prestiges headstocks are a bit slanted to your body. This one has opposite of that direction.

sorry no photo is available at the moment.

Re: JS Special help

Pictures would help, really...

Pickups will most likely be DiMarzio Paf Pro and Fred, as the PAF Pro hasn't been there in 2003 yet, to my knowledge.

The only difference between JS900 and JS1000 I know of are the PushPull Pots anyways (well the 900 has the original Edge on it aswell...)

Headstock slanted AWAY from the body?

Really... post pics, please :P

Re: JS Special help

You're thinking of the 100 guitars Thommy Lee ordered when Joe was in Asia touring a couple years ago. Joe signed and numbered them. Esentially it's just a JS1000WH with an Edge trem and chrome hardware [JS1 spec].

Re: JS Special help

The headstock issue sounds like a neck with WAY too much relief in it. Make sure you can get the neck adjusted where it is supposed to be before you buy it. I have heard of that problem before and it was a truss rod that was way too loose.

Re: JS Special help

Thanks everyone. I couldn’t take a picture as it’s in the shop.
I will try to ask about headstock thing, if they can’t fix it, I have to let it go.

Thanks again.

Re: JS Special help

JS headstocks can have a very slight forward visual angle, there's nothing broken about it.

thanks Rich. Actually there was a sale in a local shop and unfortunately that item was not part of the sale when I actually went and grab it. So I didn’t get it.

Thanks everyone.
