JS with Original Floyd rose

Anyone have their JS installed with OFR?
Care post some pics? I'm curious how it looks. =)

Re: JS with Original Floyd rose

I don't think there is much need for anyone to do that kirk, hence no one reply's. The edge is a good tremolo anyway, especially with the locking studs.

Re: JS with Original Floyd rose

he may be talking about the js100 which had the lo-trs2 . yes the lo-trs 2 will swap out with the OFR.

if you are talking about the js1 or 1000s they have the good tremelos and yeah there isn't a need to switch them out . I personally think the original edge and lo-pro are better then an OFR .

Well, he says OFR so I presume he isn't talking about the TRS.

Yup, I'm referring to the JS100 and nope I do not plan to install one
but will instead to get a JS1wh in near future.
The OFR thing is just curious as I always prefer the edge tremolo looks than
then new edge and never seem and JS body with OFR before.

Re: JS with Original Floyd rose

I had one (which I bought here at JemSite )
a JS100 with a real Floyd Rose with FRED/PAF pickups just like Satriani
It was really good, stayed in tune and was a real charm, I ended up trading itfor a 1992 RG550dx.

Re: JS with Original Floyd rose

I think OFR's are hyped up by the old timers. Ibanez Edge and lo-pro's are way better. OFR's are a stamped piece of metal with a screw in arm.

??? How are they hyped up? If set-up right they are on par with the edges/ lo pros. that "stamped peice of metal" makes it incredibly strong, unlike most of its copies made with sub-par material, or being cast. I would like to hear a legitimate argument on how the Ibanez trems are WAY better, besides personal preference. For the record I don't have any guitars with an OFR. just ibanez trems.

Re: JS with Original Floyd rose

You are right, it is a matter of preference really. They are good bridges. I do think that Ibanez improved the design. OFR's are not as pricey and have other updated versions as well.

You know, some guys still prefer Kahlers? I talked to a guy not to long ago that was nuts about them.

Re: JS with Original Floyd rose

oh yea, theres lots of niche groups out there. just like some like edges, others like non-recessed floyds. others prefer kahlers wonder bar system. lots of trems, so little time to play with them all!
