JS1 Inferno Red-question

Recently I got a JS-1 in inferno red. I was going to say it's in about
the same condition as the JS-1 Inferno Red that's up on Ibanez Rules
used page, when I realized; HEY! That *is* the JS IR that I bought! Hehe

Anywho, would you guys think it a terrible tragidy if I were to repaint
the guitar? I mean, I know the Inferno Reds are somewhat uncommon,
if not rare. But this isn't exactly an ideal example of a JS-1 guitar. It's
got a few dents and dings, including one on the back of the neck, that
I think might piss me off a bit while playing....

So what do you all think? Talk me out/into painting it?

(Note: I was going to repaint a Black Pearl I also got from the same guy,
but the BP is in just too damn perfect of condition! It's better then the
ones I've seen at GC or SA!!!)

As always, I do appreciate your time! Now if I can just keep this thread
from being locked!

well i just got my js1000bp and i love the finish

yes the the finish is uncommon and normally i would say keep it but it is a bit bashed and after all if u intend to pay the hell outa the thing then who cares about it being somwhat rare its a guitar after all and a great one i say paint the thing you will be happier playing it and after all thats the point of having a great guitar

just my opion of course but at the end of theday its not like its a donnie of a rainforest or even a js10th so i say go for it

oh and hope you enjoy it man i love my js1000 so i guess you are lovin your js1

Exactly! OK, it's an IR, that's cool and all, but from a collector point, how much is it really going to be worth? In fact, I just picked up a '92 JS that has the single middle and a 5 way selector. I going to re-finish that one.

The single pup is an HS2 according to this. I am not sure if I am going to chrome it, Rainforest it or something I come up with

BTW, I have had the JS6 and the JS3 before, just thought I'd throw that in there.

Raven, what did you have in mind?

I'm still looking for a JS-6 myself. (hint hint, nudge nudge, wink wink)

Eddie: I was going to keep this a secret till I got it done, but I'm just
bursting with excitement over the idea...

I'll have to post pictures for you all to get the full effect of it, I have to find
my original source photos for that...but I'll see if I can't find them tonight.

Anywho, I build custom computers as a hobby:

http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showth...light=Cruncher

The link shows a project that I'm working on(temporairly on hold till I
figure out what system board I really want, so I can finalize the wiring).
It's a hand cut cube case, water cooled, cold cathode lighting, LCD
display, bla bla bla. It's pretty and it goes zoom!

Anywho, I was working on this idea, where I was going to use that same
flip flop paint they used on the...um, I think it's called the JS90? I'm
still learning all the models since I've not really played or collected in
years. But I was working on a computer with that Purple, Green, flip flop,
that was going to have a flame job on it.

But not just your typical flame job. I was flipping through this custom
truck magazine, and I saw this dark blue truck with flames on it. Except
the flames were done in a Tribal Style, like those tribal tatoos. You really
have to see it to appreciate it.

Now, I'm not thinking about doing flames on the JS guitar, I'm thinking
about *covering* the whole damn body with tribal like barbed wire
patterns, layed at least three deep.

Imagine a donnie, with all the faces and bones and layering, but with
tribal style barbed wire.

Sorry, that's the best I can explain it.

Next paycheck I'm going to be buying some supplies, and doing some
test drawings and painting on...well, anything I can get my hands on that
might look cool like that. Maybe a computer case (which I can later
sell on EBAY), or a Motorcycle helmet or something.

Oh, and by the way, I'm still very serious about putting a JEM neck on
a JS guitar, and this just might be the project guitar for that!?!?!
(I hope I don't get this thread locked now!

Anyone know where I might be able to score a JEM neck? Doesn't have
to be anything special, just solid and playable. Hmmm...7 String JS
guitar...I better stop now!

In a previous post, I mentioned a Chromeboy, Rainforest or "SOMETHING I COME UP WITH". You nailed it! I was totally thinking about that barbed idea. Serious! Rikk does this to me all the time! Do I think that loud? I think it is a great idea!

That computer "thing" is insane!
