JS1 - is it or isn't it?

Hi,

Who can clear up this one... what is this?

I have 'JS1 Circa 1992 with extra Single Coil Di Marzio and non standard pickup selector switch'. I'm obv used to the JS line coming with the standard 2 pickups, so when one turns up with 3 I get curious... is this someones "handy work" after they purchased, or was this the design for a while, or something else?

Hope the links work and it's ok to post links.

Anyone got an explanation?

Cheers

Rich has a identical one in white, and its a 91.

so its more than likely legit.

yes it's legit, the JS line came with 3 pickups in '92 and '93 in black, white and red. I got a black one of that batch.

The frets on that JS1 look huge, although it might just be the lighting. Has the fretwire size change on the JS at all over time?

wasn't the Inferno Red finish kind of a black on center fading to red on the edges?

Nope, not in this case. I remember seeing the finish you're thinking of on some Radius guitars around 87-88.
