sorry for the long post, but i feel its better to be as discriptive as possible, because im sure LOTS of ppl will find this useful in the future...
I just bought a Fred to put in the JS100, It's been done MILLIONS of times before I've attempted, but I seem to need help...
Ok, Dimarzio fred, yabba dabba dammit.
RED-to the
toggle switch, opposite end of the neck pickup connection (where the old WHITE wire was).
BLACK AND WHITE- to the tone (where the old RED wire was).
GREEN AND BARE- to the ground (which seems to be the casing for the tone pot).
I've downloaded the JS1200 schematic from ibanez, and my connections are exactly the same.
HOWEVER... when my
bridge pickup is selected, and the tap is pushed IN, it sounds trebbly and wimpy. when the tap is pulled OUT, it becomes rich, and full. when the selector is in the middle position, the opposite happens. the sound is rich when it's pushed in, but wimpy when it's pulled out... Is this normal? how does this compare to everyone elses arrangement and wiring?
Am I losing my mind here?
