js100 Gstring strange tuning prob

hi guys

ive just bought my brand new axe, a js100wh

well unfortunately i have a quite strange prob and im totally at a loss.
infact the G string has a strange metallic sound compared 2 the other ones and i cannot succeed in tuning it.

i mean, the G is tuned to other strings : if i play a G acchord, and so the G string isnt pressed on the neck, well the sound is perfect. if i play an acchord, such as a Dmajor or any acchord made by pressing the D string on any fret, the G string sounds like tuned a little higher and the sound is awful... sigh

help me i dunno what 2 do

Have you sighted down the neck to see if you have any high frets or other anomolies?

I know some larger music stores have the heat up too high and trashes the neck (I.e. GC)

Is the axe intonated properly?? Or maybe your bridge is just set up way too high.

I mean it MAY be set too high. Say if you have (for example) 1 cm action ("space" between strings and neck) at the 22th fret (and yes, I have seen guitars coming out of the shop that way), the string "stretches" more than it should when you are pressing it to the neck; resulting in a higher note than it should be.

Try looking through the tech section of this site ( http://jemsite.com/tech/index.htm ) step by step, especially the action and intonation chapters. Good luck.
