JS1000 BTB - What is your opinion?

A good friend of mine said I should see if someone would trade me one of the JS1000 BTBs for a couple of my guitars (Strat and Jem). *What do you guys think of the Burnt Transparent Blues? *I just thought I'd ask your opinion before I go selling my guitars or trading them for that matter. *I had my heart set on a JS90, but the Blue's look cool. *

The BTB finish is absolutely fantastic, man! It makes the body look as if it were made of dark blue marble. The blue is very deep but clear enough for the wood grain to show through under normal lighting. Really really nice, IMHO.

I'm currently saving up to get myself one!

I agree if it's a 555 then go for it. If it isn't...try trading just your strat and throwing some money towards the BTB. I'll get pictures of mine as soon as it's here tomarrow!!!!!

This is a good idea, trade the strat and keep the jem (if it is anything but the 555). The rest you can make up with good old $$$.

Don't forget the pics rsvamipre.

Nope Jason's JEM guitar is a JEM7DBK. He just bought it but has always said he wanted a JS guitar. I can vouch for Jason. The DBK is MINT and the Strat is a killer guitar (79' Strat).

BTBs are awesome! ...I'm not so sure about going JEM-less to get one though. :idunno:

What can I say? *I'm a crazy guy!!! *

Seriously, I think I might take your advice, y'all. *I might just put my Strat up for sale and save up the rest for the BTB. *I also would like to own another Jem777vwh. *Those are sweet. *So many choices....

I own a BTB and it is an awesome looking guitar!

I bought it used but in good condition for US$550 !
A '79 Fender strat down here would fetch you anywhere between US$600 and US$1000, depending on condition, mods etc.

So I would do some research before you do anything. You may find that your strat is worth more than a JS1000BTB !

Finding a used BTB is a little tough in these parts and the only time I have seen them they were over $1,000. A new one from Rich though is only a little more (email Rich for price quote).

Okay I admit I did get a pretty good deal..... but those deals are out there! You have to be on the ball and looking constantly- everywhere!

The guy I bought my JS1000BTB advertised in the "wrong" place so I jumped on it before anyone else saw it.

Now... to find that elusive Jem BSB !
