js1000 neck compared to original wizard

I own a rg with a super wizard neck and while i like it, i prefer the js1000's neck after playing my brothers. I believe this mainly because it's narrower, although i know there's many other differences.
I believe the original wizard 1 neck off the old s540 ltd also has a 56mm neck the last fret, and was wondering how it feels compared to the js neck?

The only other neck I've felt that was as good as the js, was the EBMM jp6.

Think of a JS neck as a Strat neck. A wizard neck will be quite thin and flatter in comparison. Also, the JS necks have a compound radii, whereas the wizards have a flat radii.

Re: js1000 neck compared to original wizard

I've found the JS1000 neck to take some getting used to, much different than any of the Wizard necks. I actually like the Wizard neck better, I think the JS1000 fretboard has too much radius. It is closer to a Strat neck.

Re: js1000 neck compared to original wizard

The JS neck is 22.3 mm at the 12th fret compared to between 19mm to 21mm on the wizards.
The extra few mm makes a big difference with feel. It is also more rounded alright.
Having bought one about 6 months ago, i was suprised to find the neck profile that thick compared to the wizard necks. It was fairly uncomfortable to play for long periods, as i have not got long fingers.

Since then, i have bought a RG8420 and a RG8470, which are a class above the JS1200 and the Vai Jems. The newer J Customs have are only 19mm on the 12th fret. Which is super thin and perfect for me.
