JS1000 or PGM90HAM - Which should I buy
I went to the local reseller and tested a JS1000 and a PGM90HAM.
I think the PGM has better looks, but the neck on the js1000..... *like a race track!
I was surprised by the sound of the FRED. Looking at the specs showed on
www.DiMarzio.com
page, I didn't expect too much, but it really kicks!
The specs of
Tone Zone
(PGM) looked much more promissing, and it sounded great too.
No tremolo...too bad.
But then the playability of the JS prooved the better....
Whhaaaaa!!!!
I give up. *Help!

You've answered your own questions. Obviously you'de like the trem, and the playability of the 1000 felt better. Looks are for vain guys like me.

True, but I'm sure I'll survive without a trem. (*I think)

I agree with Rich..get the axe that has the best playability to you (1000). The PGM90 is a sweet axe, though...why not get both?

I saw JS....I like the pickups in BOTH, but I prefer the looks of the JS, and they feel NICE....don't like the
neck joint
as much, but the Lo Pro is the bomb diggity, and like I said, something about the look gets me....the only thing I think looks better than a JS1000WH is a JEM....of pretty much ANY type, but that's just me....just not RBs...hehehe

JS1000 or PGM90HAM
I just picked up a JS1000WH not to long ago, and the only complaint I have is when I sit and practice. The damn thing keeps sliding off my leg!! End up having to raise my leg up to keep it still. So by the end of the night I can barely walk cause I have a cramp running from my ass up to the back of my neck!! :loco:

I must hold mine different cause it never slides off. Every now and then it will slip a little, the trade off for having that extra comfy body contouring.

Since nobody really seems to like the pgm, let's compare the JS1000 to RG3120
Any opinions???

Now you're more into my stuff....that's a TOUGH question....on that note, I think the Twilight Blue RG3120 looks better, but I like the way RGs and JEMs look compared to the JSes....but I still love the JS1000WH....but taking into account the slippage, and the woods that the RG3120 contains, I would lean more towards the RG this time...

So back to the store to take the RG3120 for a spin?
Playability shouldn't be the problem with a prestige neck I think?

Man, you have me between a rock and a hard place here, because both guitars are the bomb....but what can I say, the AANJ on the RG3120 makes it a little faster of a player, and a little more "modern" and "Vai-ish" feeling....the neck on a JS1000, while amazing in its own right, is a little more "traditional" (read: *Fenderish) feeling of a neck....play em both, but between these two, my pick would be the RG3120, even though right now, you could probably find a used JS1000WH for a little less than an RG3120....haven't seen to many of those babies get sold used....

Does the PGM have 22 or 24 frets?
