JS1000BP 2001 factory set up - Ready to play or needs ready

Because a JS1000 2001 model is built in the J-custom shop, I would imagine it comes straight to the owner ready to play in perfect set up condition but I have heard the factory set up is terrible. The action is all wrong and the bridge is just the set up from hell.

Is this true even from J-Custom or do they even go beyond detail and set bridge angle and set screw adjustment?

The angle and intonation *should* be fine, depends on the temp difference. You'll probably want to lower the action, in case the store didn't touch it.

same setup... give or take.

The JS is more difficult IMHO to setup with the neck radius being what it is. Corner cutting shows... glen

Oh geez the neck radius. I forgot about that. Well www.satriani.com, if you get into Joe's tech/setup section you see all these details on what he has to do to set up the action the way it is. My god it must take at least 10 hours straight to do.

I sure hope it's set up half decent when it comes. *Mine's arriving on tuesday, and I don't mind setting up the action just because it's a personal taste. *But for the amount of $$$ I forked out for this guitar, I want a decent setup.

Seeing that it's coming from Ibanez'z J-Custom shop, I think it's safe to expect a 'good' set up.

...but a guitar will never be as sweet as after being set up by a guitar tech to meet his own standards on his own guitar.
On JSs and JEMs, the set up factor is crucial. It makes or breaks these high performance instruments.

Indeed it does old friend. *We must do a workshop when my axe arrives. *We'll jam until the sun goes down, or something I guess.

We'll jam until the sun comes up ....3 days later. Then take a 5 minute break and come right back!
