Js1200 Tremolo Setup Please Help

I just bought a new js1200 and I think it plays pretty well but believe it or not I think my old jackson dkmg felt better and was easier to play. It had a much more elastic feel to the strings and I felt like I could get a much better grip on the strings. The Js1200 just seems to play so softly and it just feels much less elastic and the strings seem almost thinner in a way. My old DKMG had the trem springs in like an arrow formation and my js1200 has them straight could that be it?
