JS2000 Owners/People who've played it

I can't remember since I only played it briefly some time last year but when you bend you don't get the other strings going out of tune like a floyd do you (since I guess the purpose of the 2000 is a hardtail) ?

I'm looking into buying one since I currently have a JS and when bending other strings go out (really pisses me off) and (tech question here) when you pull up/push down it never returns to the same point of neutral, how do I fix that ?

Thanks

Re: JS2000 Owners/People who've played it

1: No, they stay in tune like on a fixed bridge
2: Click on Rich's banner above and read through the tech section.

Alternatively PM me.
I'm also in Reading so we can meet up and I'll set it up in couple of hours while you watch and take notes.
I can also block your trem and achieve the same practical results that the JS2000 ofers - no whammy but all strings in tune under bends.

Isn't it better to get a JS900 now, since the 2000 has also been discontinued, with strings tru body??

I've been looking for a JS2000 for quite some time; could you provide some contact information on where you purchased yours, I'd like to buy one. Thanks!

Re: JS2000 Owners/People who've played it

I've had one for like, I think 2 years now. I love it, my main player. The FX is fantastic, and I always love the reaction it gets when I show it to other players who aren't familiar with the model.

To me, it's perfect; I wouldn't change anything about it.

I'd love IBZ to make an FX Edge equipt 7 string, as they did for Dino. That'd be amazing.

What about an FX Edge equipt 8 string, as they did for Meshuggah? Now that would be amazing! lol

Re: JS2000 Owners/People who've played it

Guys, you do realise that nailing (or rather screwing) an edge/lo pro trem plate to a body using the 3 recessed trem block holding holes will give you the same thing using any floating bridge.
You will need a replacement body with no routing on it but you will need that if you could buy FX Edge anyway so.......

Sergio Buss ( http://www.oficina.eti.br/serj/en/tools/tools.htm the blue 7 stringer) used a 7 string EDGE Steve gave him to nail it to a back of a guitar efectively making it FX Edge years before Ibanez came with anything like it.

Alternatively just block your trem properly, that'll make any double locker 99% as good as FX Edge
