JS6/6000 - How tough to find are they?

Hey Rich, Rick, or other JS expert-- How rare are the JS6's or the JS6000's? I'd love to get one at some point, but they seem pretty tough to come across on Evilbay, and I never see them on Rich's site used.

Just curious. It's the one JS that I've always loved, because of the fixed bridge and the airyness of the tone.

As much as I wish I was, I am far from an expert on JS guitars. I am trying to gain little tidbits of info as I go along my little JS quest. Rich would be the man for all "tough" questions for sure. I think I can answer this one though. From what I have heard a JS6 is a very hard to find guitar. I have only seen 2 crop up on Ebay. I have seen only one JS6000 there. I was really lucky to have mine offered to me and I definitely feel proud to own one. When you get one you will just freak out over the beautiful look, tone, and feel of the guitar. I think the light weight will surprise you too (it did me). Just keep looking. You will find one but it will take more work than the "usual guitar hunt" on the net.

The 6's come up every now and again on ebay. *It took me close to a year to finally get mine after looking for it. *I kept getting sniped. *They'll go for around $700. *I only saw one 6000 on ebay in the last couple of years. *Good luck in your search. *Once people get them, they rarely want to let go.

I'd love a JS6/6000 as well. *Been looking for one for years, and almost had one on EBay awhile back, but...something spoiled the deal. *Hopefully another will pop up one of these days. *They are out there, but they're just not very common/plentiful.

Was that the one where the guy had the auction title labeled wrong?

LOL *That would be the one! *Had it labeled as a JS1000. *Then some other guy had to go and tell the seller that he had it labelled incorrectly, even though it was the seller's own fault that he didn't know any better. *If only I could remember who the spoiler was.... *

Ok ok ok!! I was just trying to help a fellow JS owner out by telling him that he had it labeled wrong. I mean to be honest I would want someone to tell me!! Besides if I remember right there were no bids on it (at least none that met reserve or something along those lines) so *did not know there were "plans in the works" to get the guitar. I do apalogize for that. If I had known I would not have said anything. I really am sorry I messed it up for you. I thought I was doing a good thing by letting the guy know he had it labeled wrong.

So what ever happened with that whole thing? Did he just decide not to sell?

Yep, I got mine from an auction that didn't meet it's reserve on ebay. I was in contact with the seller throughout the auction and was going to buy it anyway. I payed just over the odds for it, but I was happy to considering how rare they are especially in England.

i think the highest price I've heard offered for a DEAD MINT one was $1000.

They do crop up every now and again, I think if you're serious about getting one, Rich might be able to track one down for you for a finders fee maybe? Either that or wait till one comes on ebay and ask theseller just how much it'll take for him to end that auction early, which isn't the most honorable of ways, but can be one of the most efficient.

No worries, Rikk. * *All's fair, right? *He did end up selling for $650 or so, if I remember correctly. *I've tried with all my might to block the whole fiasco from my memory, but it keep popping up.

Someday, I'd still really love one. *But, for now, I'll just have to be content with a JS2000CG! *

Thats cool! I was going to get a JS2000CG but decided to use the money to get a JS1000BTB from Rich when they come in Febuary. I get 2nd pick  I am assuming Rich gets first pick! lol After I have the BTB I will work on getting the JS2000CG

I made the biggest of newbie mistakes when I bought a JS600 last year. It was a no-pic auction, and the guy listed it as being in great shape for not a lot of money.

I should have done 2 minutes of research on the web and realized it was the Korean cheap crummy version. I hated that damn guitar. It's gone now.
