JS700! Buy, to buy or not to buy

Hey

Got my eyes on a used japan 700... It got som huming from the pickup selector, but the seller says that it's easy to fix. Got some dings at the jack input. 1997 model. He's asking around 700$ for it. Isn't that a lot overpriced?

Well, i'd say that's a little overpriced...i think for around that price, maybe a bit more, you can probably score a JS1000, which is a different guitar, but in terms of features it has a slightly higher value...And with the selector hum, $700 seems too much, i'd try to talk him down to a lower price....

$400-500 max(and 500 is really pushing it) I bought a Japanese one a while back brand new(old stock), and only paid $450! Tell he/she to come back to earth

I'd really love one of those, but sweet jeebus $700? What planet is this guy from exactly?

I'd talk him down. Way down.

is €550 an acceptable price?

remember this is europe/germany, not the US
i think it's way too high, tbh... but it's mint and quite rare nowadays, isn't it?

550 euros is good for any quality guitar in europe, especially rip off britain :P

When I see people talking about getting js1000s for $700 i feel dizzy, Norm price here is like £1,100, used maybe £800-900

The 700 is made in Korea [most of them, MIJ ok] and 550 is too much. Unfortunately I've seen them sell that high, but I've also seen them sell for $350.
