Been pondering it for several days. I traded a Strat (I still have six Strats) and a
Fender Deluxe reverb (and $100) for a Black Pearl JS1000 and a TC Electronic G-Sharp effects processor. Just to close the deal, the manager of GC threw in a framed picture of Rameirez classical guitar that my mom liked.
Very cool guitar. It does the "Joe" think of course; what really impressed me is the quality of its clean tones. My band plays a REALLY wide variety of music - Sade, to Hendrix, to Green Day, to Korn. This is a guitar I could (broken strings not withstanding) wear all night. I think I'll set it up with .010s (it came with .009s) and a Tremol-no; I never up-trem, and I'll be able to lock the trem and tune to dropped-D when necessary. Just to be different, I think I'll get a set of chrome pickup rings ala JS1200. Yeah, I know - it won't match the rest of the hardware. I just think they look really cool. The G-Sharp is pretty decent. I got it for the reverbs, but it has decent chorus and delays as well. Just gotta find a cheapo
MIDI controller to change programs when I'm playing live. Now I'm REALLY looking forward to band rehearsal tomorrow night! mrgreen:
Peace,
